Oranje boven/Orange rules(?)

Nee, ik ben niet te laat voor de Kroningsdag! Op school werden vandaag de verjaardagen van de juffen en meesters gevierd. En dit was (naast de gebruikelijke bloem natuurlijk) hun cadeautje, want het thema voor het Eindfeest dit jaar is Oranje boven! Dan hebben ze alvast een versiersel...maar natuurlijk ook voor alle komende Koningsdagen, EK's en WK's!
De twee bovenste zijn het voorbeeld voor een activiteit voor de kinderen op het feest.

No, I'm not to late for Crowningsday! At school today, the children celebrated the birthhdays of the teachers. And this was (with the usual flower off course) their present, because the theme for the Finalparty(?) this year is Oranje rules(?)! So the teachers have some sort of brooche allready...also for the next coming Kingsdays, Europian - and World Championships!
The upper two are examples for an activity for the children at the party.

Reisatelier/Portable workshop

Dit was de afgelopen twee weken mijn atelier. Heerlijk overzichtelijk!
We zijn een paar dagen bij mijn broer in Spanje geweest. Vorig jaar heb ik daar die kleine duifjes gemaakt. Deze keer heb ik paddestoeltjes gemaakt. Het is een patroontje van Wilma creatief. Het is een sleutelhanger (achterin het mandje zie je een paddestoel met ijzeren sleutelhanger eraan). Ik heb aan de andere paddestoelen een lintje gemaakt zodat hij aan een sleutel, deurknop, tas of wat dan ook vastgemaakt kan worden.
De rest van de vakantie waren we in een lief huisje (met van die blauwe luiken) in de Dordogne. Ik had wat pakketjes mee. Dat is handig om mee te nemen en zo maak ik weer eens kennis met een ander patroontje. Ik heb ze helaas nog niet helemaal af, dus die volgen nog.

This was my workshop, the last two weeks. How neat!
We've been to my brother in Spain for a few days. Last year I made the little doves there. This time I made little toadstools. It's a pattern from Wilma creatief. It's a keyring (in the back of the basket, you see the one with an iron keyring on it). I made a ribbon on the other toadstools, so you can put it on a key, a doorknob, a bag etc.
The rest of the holidays we were in a cute little house (with such blue shutters) in the Dordogne. I brought some dolls kits. That's handy to take with you and it's a nice to try out other patterns. I didn't finish them completely so they will follow later on.

Gevilte bloemen/ Felted flowers

Mijn handwerkgroepje was er vanmiddag weer. Normaal zitten er 4 weken tussen, nu maar 2. Ik had namelijk iets bedacht voor moederdag en dat valt net in de Meivakantie.
We hebben bloemen(broches) gevilt. En om de bloemen vooral geheim te kunnen houden tot moederdag, hebben we ook een deftig doosje gemaakt.
Vandaag kon ik eindelijk weer eens het eindresultaat fotograferen. Hier moeten de moeders toch blij van worden?

My craftgroup was here again today. Normally there are 4 weeks in between, now only 2. That's because I planned something for Mothersday and that is during the holidays that are coming up.
We felted flowers (brooches). And to hide the flowers until Mothersday, we also made a giftbox.
Today I had the opportunity to photograph the finished pieces. The mothers are going to be happy, don't you think?

Nachtwaker/ Nightwatch

Toen ik Het Sneeuwklokje van Pippilotta zag, zag ik dit kleine nachtwakertje erin. Ik heb toen gauw het pakketje besteld. In het pakketje voor het sneeuwklokje zat groen frescovilt. Dat heb ik in blauw besteld, want dat zag er wel erg mooi uit. Het werkt wat stugger dan normaal vilt, het voelt wel heel zacht en ik vind het erg mooi.
Natuurlijk ga ik het sneeuwklokje ook maken (volgend jaar).

When I saw The Snowdrop from Pippilotta, I saw this little nightwatch in it. I ordered the set. In the package there was green frescofelt. I ordered that in blue, because it looked very beautiful. It's a bit stiff to work with, it feels very soft and I think it's beautiful.
Off course I'll make the snowdrop as well (next year).

Een ruige vertelkabouter/A rough kind of storytellinggnome

Ik heb eens een baard van wollen garen gemaakt. Ik vind dat het hem wel stoer maakt.

This time I've made a beard of woollen thread. I think it looks kind of cool.

Handwerkgroep/Craftsgroup

Vanmiddag hebben de meisjes een armband geborduurd. Ze hebben ontzettend hun best gedaan. Sommige steekjes zijn natuurlijk best moeilijk. Met de steekjes die ze nu geoefend hebben, gaan we in juni een tekening borduren...Spannend!
Ik heb helaas het eindresultaat niet kunnen fotograferen. Het is juist aan het einde vaak nog even hard werken om iets af te krijgen of uit te leggen. Op de foto staan dus mijn voorbeelden.

This afternoon the girls have embroidered a bracelet. They worked very hard. Some stitches are a bit difficult. With the stitches they practiced now, we are going to embroider a drawing in June...Exciting!
I didn't manage to photograph the bracelets of the girls. It's always busy at the end of the afternoon. On the photo you see my examples.

Vertelkabouter/Storytelling gnome

Nog een vertelkabouter. Deze is voor dezelfde persoon als de vorige vertelkabouter die ik maakte. 

Ik ben zelf helemaal weg van deze pop. Ik ga er meteen nog twee maken en ik wil nog een variant maken met een onderlijf als een lijs.

I'm very fond of this kind of doll. I'm gonna make another two and I also want to make a variation with legs like a normal Waldorf doll.

Knuffelhaasjes

Nog een weekje en dan is het al weer Pasen. Daarom heb ik nog maar twee knuffelhaasjes gemaakt. Wil je ze ook nog maken dan is hier mijn tutorial en hier vind je een heel mooie variant in velours.

One more week and then we celebrate Easter already. Therefore I made another two cuddly bunnies. If you also want to make them, here's my tutorial and here you'll find a lovely variation in velours.

Aardbeienkrans/Strawberrywreath

Gister ben ik met Barbara weer een krans wezen maken bij Poppenatelier Wollepop. Gemma Anink gaf de workshop. Ze neemt altijd foto's mee van de kransen die ze gemaakt heeft ter inspiratie. Je weet dan werkelijk niet wat je moet kiezen. Er zijn zoveel mooie kransen te maken... Ik viel deze keer voor de aardbeitjes. 

Wat is het heerlijk om af en toe eens een workshop te doen bij iemand anders. Je ziet andere techniekjes, je bent samen met andere handwerk"fanaten", het is gezellig en je werkt eens een hele dag achter elkaar aan iets en meestal ga je dan met een compleet werkstuk naar huis. Meestal......ik heb gisteravond en vanochtend nog wat huiswerk afgemaakt...

Yesterday I've been following  a workshop together with Barbara at Poppenatelier Wollepop. Gemma Anink was leading the workshop. She always brings pictures of the wreaths she made, for inspiration. You really don't know what to choose then. There are so many beautiful wreaths to make...I fell for the strawberry's this time.

It is so nice to do a workshop somewhere else sometimes. You see other techniques, you're together with other needlework"fanatics", it's cosy and you have the chance to work on a piece all day long. Usually you go home with a completely finished piece. Usually....I had to do some homework last night and this morning...

Handwerkgroepje/Craftsgroup

We gingen gisteren een lente- of bloemenfeetje maken. Hier begonnen we mee. En dan zie je maar weer hoe inspirerend het materiaal zelf kan zijn. "Mag ik ook roze als haar gebruiken?", "Mag het ook een zeemeermin worden?" Natuurlijk!! Heerlijk toch?

We were gonna make a spring-or flowerfairy. This is what we started with. And then you notice again how inspiring the material itself can be. "Can I use pink for the hairs?', "Can I also make a mermaid?" Off course!! Isn't that wonderfull?

Broekzakpopjes/Pocketdolly's

Ik vind deze popjes zelf zo leuk (sorry hoor!). Zo'n klein uppedruppie dat overal mee naar toe kan in je zak...
I like these dolly's very much (I'm sorry to say so about my own dolly's!). Such a cuty that you can carry around everywhere in your pocket...

Je kunt er zoveel variaties van maken. In mijn hoofd heb ik al duizend en een combi's gemaakt van verschillende kleurtjes en stofjes. En je kunt er dus ook al je kleine stukjes overgebleven stofjes voor gebruiken. Hoewel ik moet toegeven dat ik ook in staat ben om soms een piepklein kaboutermutsje te knippen uit een meter stof omdat ik dat zoooo goed vind passen....
You can make so many variations. In my head I made thousand and one combinations of different colours and fabrics. And you can use your left over pieces of fabric for it. Although I have to admit that  sometimes I cut out a tiny gnomesbonnet out of a piece of fabric of a meter, just because I think it fits soooooooo well....

Winkeltje spelen/Playing with a shop

Op het idee gebracht door Ineke Gray heb ik bij de vorige actie van Albert Heijn via Marktplaats een oud kastje gekocht. Hij was mooi blank hout maar er zaten inktvlekken op. Van de zomer heb ik hem buiten lekker geschuurd en geschilderd. Ik ben erg blij met het kastje. Hij kan mooi voor winkeltje doorgaan samen met een theekistje van de Action als toonbank en een oude Moeder Aarde (gemaakt door een moeder uit mijn klas, jaren geleden) als winkelmevrouw. Met al die leuke mini's en een klein serviesje kan hij ook een keuken/buffetkast zijn of gewoon een kast in een poppenkamer met kleertjes en speelgoed.

We have a supermarket which gives miniproducts when you do your shopping there. They did this last year as well. Ineke Gray came with the idea of making a shop with it. I bought a second hand minicupboard then. It was nice wood but it had stains of ink. So last summer I painted it. I'm very happy with it. It can be a shop together with a teabox as a counter and an old Mother Earth (made by a mother from my class, years ago) as the lady of the shop. It can also be a nice kitchencupboard with those nice mini's and a tiny tea-set or it can just be a cupboard in a doll's room with clothes and toys in it.
